SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KGO) -- A person riding a scooter has been transported to the hospital after plummeting off an elevated portion of Highway 101 in San Rafael onto a surface street below.
The scooter was traveling on northbound Highway 101 at 3:20 p.m. when it plunged off the highway and onto Second Street.
A dog that may have been riding on the scooter was found dead on the freeway.
