SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- A speeding car gutted a San Bruno flower shop Friday night. Witnesses say a town car coming down El Camino Real hit several parked cars, and a light pole power box before careening into the store, where it burst into flames.
"He hit two cars over there and then tried to run, another car came, he sideswiped, pretty much tried to get out of the way over there and went right into the flower shop," said Haisan Said, a witness.
"I saw the guy kept hitting the gas and that's what caused it. The tires were burning out, I guess that's what caused the spark for the fire to start," said Shabir, a witness.
There's no word on the driver's condition or whether drinking was involved. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
