There's no such thing as a free ride -- unless you're willing to try out a new ferry service next week.

On Monday, San Francisco Bay Ferry launches its new service between the East Bay and South San Francisco. Workers were still putting on the finishing touches on the new Oyster Point Terminal in south city Friday morning. The service from Oakland and Alameda is expected to draw 100,000 passengers each year.

"We've been working very closely with Genentech and with Commute.org and they are going to be providing shuttles which will meet the arriving ferry passengers and take them to their employee locations from the ferry terminal, and they bring them back in the afternoon," said Ernest Sanchez from San Francisco Bay Ferry.
