Ice Center of San Mateo eyes new home

SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- Ice skaters around San Mateo are looking for a new place to glide.

The Ice Center of San Mateo is preparing to close at the end of May when its lease at the Bridgepointe Shopping Center runs out.

The shopping center says it's not renewing the lease. Now Ice Center officials want to build a new facility in Foster City.

They have an eye on a 2.6 acre plot of land ready for development near Werder Peir.
