Congregation offers free same-sex marriages

Monday, November 03, 2008

Clergy at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco are offering to marry any same-sex couples with a marriage license free of charge.

They will stay open until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday when the polls close. They're staging the marathon just in case the measure that bans same-sex marriages passes.

Proposition 8 has turned into this year's most watched election question nationwide, aside from the presidential election. The most recent polls show the proposition failing, but only by a very slim margin.
