A Christmas tree with 21,000 low-energy lights will light up San Francisco's Union Square at 6:30 on Friday night.

Giants' pitcher Barry Zito is scheduled to flip the switch. For $5 you can sponsor a light to benefit UCSF Children's Hospital.

Proceeds go directly to a program that helps patients and their families get the very best medical care and emotional support. Donations will be accepted through December 24th.
