Gavin Newsom in Shanghai for World Expo

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is now China to open San Francisco Week at the World Expo in Shanghai.

This week's trip coincides with the 30 year anniversary of the sister city relationship between the two cities.

Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi are leading an 80-member delegation.

Newsom hopes to promote green technology and better ways to protect the environment.

San Francisco's ballet and opera will perform to showcase the city's art and culture.
