SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A Carmel couple traveling in Chile before the quake is now considered missing.
Joseph Stoffers and Isis Skarra-Pergler went backpacking in Chile in early February.
They were believed to be in a popular surf spot north of the epicenter when the quake hit, and have not been heard from since.
Stoffers is a state parks lifeguard near Monterey.
