KidZania lets kids try out adult jobs

TOYKO (KGO) -- An unusual chain of theme parks, with locations around the world, is getting attention for letting kids try out adult jobs. It's called KidZania.

Pint-sized paramedics practice first aid and young firefighters can hose down a building. Children select a job, change into a uniform, then get on the job training.

The attractions are sponsored by real life companies like Coca Cola and Clinique.

Kids also earn money, called "kidzos", which can be used to buy gifts or visit the park again. Park executives say the goal is to teach kids about earning and spending.

"We have over 60 pavilions they can stop by. Some pavilions to work, make money, some pavilions spend the money," said Koji Nose, the executive managing director of Kidzania.

Kidzania has 13 locations worldwide and hopes to open one in the U.S. in 2015.
