Oregon school bus driver accused of being asleep at the wheel
PORTLAND, Ore. (KGO) -- It's been a scary start to the new school year for students at a Portland, Oregon high school.
Students at Lincoln High School say that every morning on their bus ride to school, their driver is barely able to stay awake.
Brothers Nick and Lewis Sayre told school officials, who told the district. But nothing was done.
They even watched the driver heading the wrong way down a one way street on a bus.
Lewis: "I was like 'hey, you know this is a one way street right?'"
Reporter: "Oh, you said something to him?"
Lewis: "Yeah, I did. And he was like, 'oh yeah, oops.'"
Despite their complaints, nothing was done, until the boy's uncle told them to get some proof.
That's when Nick took video on his phone.
They showed it to district officials, who showed it to the private bus company, who finally got rid of the driver.
