May 14 - KGO (KGO) -- Silicon Valley giant Google is using its star power to introduce its employees to the presidential candidates-- up close and personal. New Mexico governor Bill Richardson came to the Google campus in mountain view this afternoon to get his message out.
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson used humor early to connect with the Google audience. He showed his unconventional television ad which touts his extensive resume and delivers a punch line.
Gov. Bill Richardson, (D) New Mexico: "I'm not a rock star. I don't have gobbles of money or googles of money."
The democratic candidate for president also hit hard on the issues calling on Congress to de authorize the war using the war powers resolution to get all American troops out of Iraq.
Gov. Bill Richardson, (D) New Mexico: "I believe at least a constitutional challenge is better because at least it could not be vetoed and it would get the American people to galvanize behind a movement to end the war."
Governor Richardson is the third in Google's candidate's forum and follows senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and john McCain. He touched on every issue from health care to immigration.
Gov. Bill Richardson: "I believe in choice so I will give three choices for topics."
Richardson has been governor of New Mexico since 2003, spent 14 years in Congress, and served as U.N. Ambassador and Secretary of Energy. He told googlers as they call themselves the country needs an energy policy with mandates.
Gov. Bill Richardson: "I would say in four years, to do it."
The young and innovative audience gave Richardson high marks for both style and substance.
Aspi Siganporia, Google Employee: "He definitely knowledgeable."
Andrew Bentley, Google Employee: "My immediate reaction is that he is very authentic and I knew what kind of person he was after that."
Google says it is talking with all of the remaining presidential candidates about personal visits to Google but so far does not have its next guest scheduled.
