SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree will not be charged for an alleged sexual assault at a downtown hotel.
The district attorney's office announced the case has been thoroughly investigated by police and, at this time, there's not enough evidence to charge Crabtree for the encounter with a woman at the W Hotel after the Niners beat the Green Bay Packers at Candlestick Park earlier this month.
Crabtree was never detained or arrested.
Investigators say Crabtree fully cooperated with the investigation. And as we've reported previously, sources say two other women who were there at the time told police the sex was consensual.
49ers General Manager Trent Baalke issued a statement Friday night which reads, "We are pleased to learn of the San Francisco District Attorney's announcement following a thorough review of the matter. Michael and the team can now put this behind us and move forward."
