55-foot Christmas tree to adorn State Capitol lawn

It will be trimmed with 1,500 hand crafted ornaments created by children and adults with developmental disabilities. The tree lighting ceremony is December 10.

Crews cut down a 55-foot White Fire tree near Placerville in El Dorado County.

It was donated by the U.S. Forest Services Institute of Genetics and the tree will be set up on the West Lawn of the Capitol.

It will be trimmed with 1,500 hand crafted ornaments created by children and adults with developmental disabilities. The tree lighting ceremony is December 10.
