AMBER Alert issued for missing baby in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KGO) -- A statewide AMBER Alert has been issued for a 10-month-old boy reportedly kidnapped from Fresno.

The baby was reportedly abducted from his mother's home in the Fresno County town of Riverdale.

Elijah Rivas is 20 inches tall, weighs 15 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities say he was kidnapped by his biological father, 19-year old Edgar Ramos, who under court order, is only allowed to visit his son under supervision. Authorities say it was during those supervised visits when the kidnapping occurred.

Ramos is 5'7"and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. The Fresno County Sheriff's Department says they are concerned about the baby's safety because Ramos made suicidal statements to the baby's mother before taking off with him.

Detectives are following leads in bordering counties but they are counting on the public's help. If you have seen either baby Elijah or the suspect, Edgar Ramos, authorities want you to call 9-1-1.
