Snowboarder killed in avalanche

TRUCKEE, Calif. (KGO) -- A snowboarder was killed Monday at Donner Ski Ranch in eastern Nevada County, after setting off an inbounds avalanche.

The search for the missing boarder began after a friend called the sheriff's office to report he hadn't returned from a run.

Search and rescue crews have recovered his body, but are not yet releasing the boarder's name.
