Menlo Charity Horse Show
Vista Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired

Mark your calendar for a six-day, world-class equestrian event, attracting many of the most accomplished Hunter-Jumper horses and riders from around the world! Proceeds benefit Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Thousands of spectators a day watch the country's top horses and riders in this six-day Olympic-caliber, open-field jumping competition.

Action begins at 8:00 a.m. each show day with classes running simultaneously in three separate rings until approximately 6:00 p.m. This year's event will feature internationally ranked equestrians competing in Olympic style jumping. Entry is $10 per person. Six-day passes are available for $35. Children under 12 and Seniors over 65 are admitted free.

At Menlo we have one Jumper ring and two hunter rings. The hunter ring is where you see the beauty and elegant tradition of riding. From the days of fox hunting, hunters are judged on the manners and style of the competitor. The Jumper ring is all about power and speed where our equine athletes compete over obstacles as big as 5'6" in height and as much as four feet wide. The Olympic sport of Grandprix Show Jumping is something you will not want to miss.

In addition, over 40 vendors will be set up, offering clothing, fine jewelry and items for the home, garden and stable.

For 42 years, Menlo has been home to top show jumping and horse showing in Northern California. The horse show began as a neighborhood event and has grown into a world-class event, earning the honor of being named the "NorCal Horseshow of the Year" for the past seven years. Each year, the event raises hundreds of thousands for the Vista Center.

Founded in 1936 on the conviction that sight loss need never be a barrier to self-reliance, self-esteem, or quality of life, Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is the primary resource in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties for those with severe loss of vision. The Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired enables clients to achieve their highest potential through programs that promote independence and improve quality of life.
