"Profiles of Excellence" is an Emmy Award-winning series produced by the ABC7 Public Affairs Department to celebrate the Bay Area's rich cultural diversity. For the past 24 years, the program has been featuring local residents who have made important contributions to the community.

Hosted by ABC7 News Reporter/Anchor Ama Daetz, "Profiles of Excellence" features five truly impressive individuals.

Betty Reid-Soskin: Our first profile highlights a woman who holds the title of the Oldest Park Ranger in America! At 91-years-old, Betty Reid-Soskin continues to inspire and educate visitors to one of our newest national parks.

Sins Invalid: Our next profile looks at a performance project that incubates and celebrates artists with disabilities. Co-founders Patty Berne and Leroy Moore created Sins Invalid to challenge the idea of beauty and sexuality that is inclusive of all communities.

Gloria Sandoval: Our next profile looks at a woman focused on offered a helping hand and a safe place for families facing domestic violence. Gloria Sandoval leads one of the largest family violence agencies in Northern California  a group known as STAND! For Families Free of Violence.

Weili Dai:Our next profile spotlights Weili Dai. She is a technology visionary, the only female co-founder of a global semiconductor company called Marvell. From the beginning, she has helped the business grow to become one of the top semiconductor companies in the world.

Jamison Green, PhD: Our final profile features the man seen as a role model by many for courageously sharing his experience as a transgender man. Doctor Jamison Green's work and career address the many challenges faced by the transgender community.

The Museum of Craft and Design is celebrating the Grand Opening of their new permanent locations in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood. The museum explores the active roles craft and design play in everday life, introducing visitors to a broad range of artists and designers. Currently on display are exciting works from artists like Michael Cooper, Arline Fisch, and Rebecca Hutchinson. Experience these innovative exhibits through June 23rd.
