Nola Brantley is one of the co-founders and the current Executive Director of MISSSEY an organization developed in 2007 to advocate and facilitate the empowerment and inner transformation of sexually exploited youth by holistically addressing their specific needs.

Prior to her directorship at MISSSEY from 2001 to 2007 Nola directed the Parenting and Youth Enrichment Department where she developed the first community case management model for commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC) in Alameda County. Simultaneously she served as a volunteer on-call CSEC Advocate for the Oakland Police Department's Special Victims Unit from 2005-2007. Nola's hard work and perpetual vigilance has brought both focus and concrete resources to this chronically underserved and largely unrecognized population of victimized children.

Not only has Nola been a pioneer in Alameda County for CSEC service development she has also help set the foundation for much of the CSEC legislative and policy efforts. Additionally Nola spends countless hours providing trainings and presentations throughout Alameda County, California and the Nation. She has also taught innovative aftercare methods for abuse survivors to individuals from around the nation and world. Nola has been awarded the Bay Area Regional Jefferson Award by CBS 5, the Walk against Domestic Violence Community Service Award by A Safe Place-Oakland, the Ruby Award and the Best of Women and Girls Award by Soroptimist International and the Angel Award for Community Service by the Take Wings Foundation. Nola possesses both passion and unfailing commitment to her community, her world and to the young people she serves.
