BART seriously considering text-message line

Friday, May 13, 2011

A pilot program is being considered by BART for passengers to report problems using text messages.

The idea is under serious consideration and BART president Bob Franklin supports the idea. Passengers could use the line to report such things as malfunctioning doors, an out of control passenger, or a suspicious package.

Currently riders can call BART police at (510) 464-7000, tell a train operator, or fill out a comment card.
