Ted Oberg

Ted Oberg
Ted spends his days trying to tell stories that make sense of what's happening in Houston. Knowing what happened without knowing why or how isn't enough these days, and in his reporting Ted seeks to give a broader view of our city.

Ted came to KTRK in October 2001. His reports air mostly weeknights on 13 Eyewitness News at 6.

Before coming to Houston, Ted worked in Virginia and Michigan. In Norfolk, Virginia, he covered the Navy extensively and traveled all over the world to find U.S. sailors serving their country. Some of Ted's stops include - Bosnia, Kosovo, Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, and several US Aircraft Carriers.

Ted has won several awards including a Lone Star Emmy and a prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow award for his reporting. He's also been recognized for his documentary work and In-Depth reporting by the Associated Press Broadcasters of Virginia.

Ted grew up outside New York City and has a history degree from the University of Michigan. He lives in Houston with his wonderful wife and beautiful daughter.
