There's a police chase underway near downtown Houston. It began along the Gulf Freeway near Telephone in southeast Houston around 10:30am. Police are chasing a driver in a dark colored sedan.

The suspect is now circling through neighborhood streets. He traveled up the Gulf Freeway before exiting around I-10 on the north side of downtown, where he took the side streets again.

There are reports of shots fired at the beginning of the chase, but there are no reports of any injuries at this time. There's no word what prompted the police pursuit.
