|Dr. Susan Rossmann is the Chief Medical Officer of the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, Houston. Dr. Rossmann is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with a specialty in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine. She graduated with an undergraduate major in history from Mount Holyoke College, and received a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from the University of Michigan, before medical studies at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr Rossmann is active in America's Blood Centers, and has recently become its Vice-President. She has taken a special interest in blood donor issues, currently serving as the Chair of the the Donor History Questionnaire Task Force for the AABB, and is a member of the ABC Taskforce on the Donor Written Statement of Understanding. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Marrow Donor Program, where she serves as Chair of the Donor and Patient Safety Monitoring Committee.
