The successful applicant will be responsible for all facets of the assignment desk, which includes but is not limited to making beat-checks, answering phones, monitoring police and fire radios, getting information and developing stories. The candidate should be detail-oriented and able to handle many different responsibilities at the same time. Good news judgment, an even temper, patience and strong communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to take directions, but should also be able to work without supervision. The candidate will work nights, weekends and must have a flexible schedule. The ideal applicant should have experience as a television news assignments editor. Part Time Broadcast Technician

The KTRK-TV production department is looking for a Part-Time Broadcast Technician who is a self-motivator and works well with others. Duties will include robotic studio camera operation, floor directing, and other duties as assigned by the Production Manager. Broadcast television experience is a plus. This is a part time position with no benefits.

Web Executive Producer

KTRK-TV, an ABC owned television station located in Houston, TX, has an immediate opening for a Web Executive Producer.

Ideal candidate will have significant experience working in a major market newsroom, as well as experience working with interactive media on different platforms, including Web and WAP. No beginners. The Web EP will work with newsroom personnel to produce content online throughout the day and to surround that content with relevant ancillary information, providing a rich user experience. Sound news judgment is a must, as is the ability to understand and act on the latest interactive media trends. Ideal candidate will also have knowledge of HTML, the ability to create basic Web graphics, and an understanding of other Web tools, such as FTP and digital video. This position will include some nights and weekends and the ability to contribute immediately when news events warrant.
