Ex-deputy plans to fight indecent exposure case

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Charles Easterling, a 24 year veteran, was charged with exposing himself to children

The attorney for a former Harris County deputy constable who's accused of exposing himself to two young girls says he will fight the charges.

Charles Easterling, 51, is charged with indecency with a child by exposure. Police say he was naked in the backyard of his Friendswood home, when the two girls walked by and saw him.

Easterling was in court today. His attorney says they're prepared to go to trial if the charge isn't dismissed.

"My client denies these allegations," said defense attorney Rick DeToto. "The bottom line is he went outside to use the restroom. There's a great distance between his house and where these girls were. Our investigator is going to be speaking with the girls, speaking with the mom. We're going to fight this case tooth and nail."

Following the charges, Easterling was placed on administrative leave, but instead he quit his job, after 24 years with Harris County.
