Join ABC13 and our partners on July 4, 2007 at Eleanor Tinsley Park as we celebrate our independence this year with Chevy's Freedom Over Texas with fireworks presented by Shell!
Fireworks will fly and Texas tunes will fill the air at Houston's All-American Fourth of July celebration with the largest land-based fireworks show in the nation, unbeatable entertainment, and a lively outdoor festival! On Wednesday, July 4th, festival headliner Montgomery Gentry will ignite the stage at the 2007 Chevy's Freedom Over Texas with Fireworks Presented by Shell. The concert will be followed by the largest land-based fireworks show in the nation, presented by Shell and produced by the world-renowned fireworks artists form Pyro Spectaculars by Souza. Both the concert and the fireworks will be televised live statewide from Eleanor Tinsley Park.
Montgomery Gentry, a country music duo featuring Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, was founded in the 1990s. Before the duo, Troy and Eddie sang with Eddie's younger brother, John Michael Montgomery. John later decided to pursue a solo career, while Eddie and Troy formed Montgomery Gentry. They have received many awards over the years including ACM Top New Vocal Duet/Group in 1999, and both CMA Vocal Duo of the Year and CCMA SOCAN Song of the Year in 2000. They released their most recent album, "Some People Change," in October 2006.
When the concert comes to a close at approximately 9:30 p.m., eyes will turn skyward for an extraordinary fireworks display. Perfectly set to a selection of America's favorite tunes, from patriotic songs to rock 'n' roll hits to classic bestsellers, this year's show is the city's largest to date.
