Free Stuff Fridays - Halloween edition

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's time for a spooky Free Stuff Friday and there are lots of freebies in honor of Halloween.

To get some of the freebies you or your kids have to be in costume, but it may be worth it to get your hands on all the free stuff.

The Galleria is celebrating Halloween with its "Spooktacular" event from 1pm to 4pm Saturday, October 31. There will be face painting, magic shows and more than 100 retailers are participating in trick or treating. Also, kids dressed in costumes get free skate rentals, a free 5 by 7 photo, and a free meal at the Rainforest Cafe.

Speaking of food, here's a list of free food on Halloween:

*At Applebee's, kids 12 and under in costume receive a free kid's meal for lunch or dinner, with an adult entree purchase.

*At Taco Bell, the new black jack taco is free from 6pm to midnight. Most Taco Bell locations are participating, so be sure to check before you go.

*At Chipotle, get a free "Boo-rito" on Halloween. The catch is you must be dressed as a burrito, taco or burrito bowl.

*At Mission Burrito, kids in costumes eat free all day and no adult purchase is required. However, kids need to be accompanied by an adult.

*At Sweet Tomatoes on Friday and Saturday, kids eat free if they are dressed in a Halloween costume, but you must have one adult purchase.

For those who enjoy wine, the west Houston wine bar, Vintropolis, has free wine tastings every Wednesday night from 6pm to 7pm. This is a great opportunity to taste wines from several regions. Vintropolis is located at 10001 Westheimer near Beltway 8.

Finally, Thanksgiving Day is around the corner and it's time to start talking turkey. That's why the retailer Williams-Sonoma is offering free cooking classes on how to prepare the perfect turkey, side dishes and desserts. Registration is required for the free classes held this Sunday, November 1, and repeated again on Monday. Classes will be held at participating Williams-Sonomas. They have additional classes throughout the month, so be sure to check out their class calendar online.
