Inventors invited to audition for new show

(10/21/05 - LOS ANGELES, CA) -- For these auditions, Simon Cowell couldn't care less if you can sing. He wants to know if you can come up with an idea for a new invention.

Casting calls for Cowell's ABC reality show "American Inventor" start November 14 in Los Angeles. They'll be held in eight cities in November and December.

Contestants can enter a sketch, a prototype of just a concept. Judges will narrow down the entries to a group of finalists who'll each get $50,000 to develop their product.

Viewers will choose the winning invention, which will be worth $1 million. For more information go to AmericanInventor.tv.
