ABC yanks original "Extreme Makeover"

  

(10/25/06 - BURBANK, CA) -- ABC is sinking the "Extreme Makeover" mothership.

While "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is a hit, the show it came from, where people and not houses, are made-over, is being taken off the schedule.

New episodes were supposed to have run on Friday during the November ratings period. But, they've been yanked. They're being replaced with reruns of "Grey's Anatomy."

And, those episodes of Makeover have not been rescheduled.
