(2/10/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- A serial robber is targeting several fast food restaurants. So far, he's hit four different cities including Houston.
The robberies that authorities have linked have all happened in the early afternoon to late evening last Thursday through Sunday in the southeast part of our viewing area. But the robber isn't limiting himself to any one neighborhood.
"He came in and he asked for the money," said Subway employee Barbara Coffin.
Fast food workers, mainly at Subways and Church's restaurants, were robbed at gunpoint. Some employees at first said it seemed like a joke.
"He said, 'No, I'm not kidding.' He said, 'Give me your money' and about that time, (a co-worker) said he lifted up his shirt and exposed a gun," said Coffin.
The suspect has robbed eight locations that authorities know of -- two in Pasadena, one in Baytown, one in Deer Park and four in Houston.
"The description of the vehicle, the description of the suspect, and the type of weapons he's used, match from one case to the other," said Bud Corbett with the Pasadena Police Department.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 40s, about 5'10" to 6'10", medium to stocky build, with light brown hair and light colored eyes.
It's not only police, but the employees, too, worried about what will happen if the robberies continue.
"I hope they catch him. I really do, because it's been a nightmare for myself and my coworker," said Coffin.
"Anybody who's going to rob anybody at gunpoint is a dangerous individual. We've gotta capture him as soon as we can," said Corbett.
The weapon the robber is using is a silver colored semi-automatic gun with black grips. The vehicle is described as a minivan.
