(2/20/06 - KTRK/KINGWOOD, TX) (KTRK) -- Sparks flew as a bizarre slow speed police chase came to an end in Kingwood.
It all began when an officer tried to stop a motorist for allegedly running a stop sign around 2am Monday. The driver took off, but only at speeds around 50 mph.
The suspect blew a tire on a curb early on, but he continued driving on the rims. Some road damage was caused as a result.
The chase came to an end after about half an hour. The driver eventually crashed along Forest Cove near Red Bud, damaging a stop sign.
"I don't believe he hit his head on the winshield. He shows no signs of injury," said HPD Lt. Matthew Bullock. "He did suffer a bloody nose, but I believe that happened when he got out of the car and fell on the ground."
There's no word yet what charges the man will face.
