Woman dies after slamming into retaining wall

(3/28/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- A woman died when she crashed her car in the Channelview area Tuesday morning.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the incident happened around 3am. The Honda Accord was speeding headed down the East Freeway near Magnolia when the driver lost control.

She slammed into a retaining wall and died instantly. She did not have her seatbelt on and deputies think that may have cost the driver her life. Investigators have not released her name.
