(6/28/06 - KTRK/CROSBY, TX) (KTRK) -- A bat has tested positive for rabies in northeast Harris County.
The animal was discovered earlier this week in the back yard of a home in the Crosby area. Health officials say there are no known human exposures linked to that infected bat, but an outdoor cat may have been exposed to the disease. The pet is being tested.
Health officials urge people to keep their pets vaccinated against rabies and make sure children stay away from stray or wild animals.
