Sponsor calls of so-called 'graffiti jam'

Friday, July 07, 2006

A graffiti party planned at a south Houston indoor skate park has been called off.

Neighbors and city leaders were upset, after two graffiti artists planned a so-called 'graffiti jam.' They wanted to show inspiring graffiti artists how to tag. City leaders claimed it promoted vandalism among Houston teens.

The sponsor of the event, Hawaiian Punch, called it off Friday afternoon after learning of the controversy.
