(10/10/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- A child is in trouble after bringing a dummy grenade to his elementary school.
The eight-year-old boy reportedly brought a dummy grenade to Kate Bell Elementary school Tuesday morning. According to HISD officials, the boy showed it to his teacher. She confiscated and reported the incident.
The grenade used to be live, but had been gutted and sold through a surplus store. It's believed to have belonged to a relative of the boy.
The student has been reassigned to alternative school.
