Grand jury testimony of former TSU President Slade won't be unsealed

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Priscilla Slade's testimony before a grand jury will not be unsealed. A judge made that decision Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors had wanted the testimony unsealed so they could decide whether to pursue perjury charges against her. The former president of Texas Southern University is accused of misusing nearly $2 million of school funds to pay for furniture and landscaping at her old home.

She was indicted on charges of misappropriating funds. Her trial is scheduled to start in February.
