Ammonia leak forces evacuation in Sugar Land

Thursday, December 21, 2006

An ammonia leak at a Sugar Land ice skating complex has forced an evacuation.

Around 200 people had to be evacuated from the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center and a shelter-in-place is en effect. Haz-Mat crews are on the scene and we're told that the leak has now been capped.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time. The facility will be closed for the rest of the evening.
