(1/17/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- HISD officials decided to close for today due to reports of ice in and around the Houston area.
HISD officials said the the central office will open. Staff members should report to work with caution.
HISD police and transportation officials say there were numerous reports of icy patches on streets around the city. HISD officials decided that was enough to cancel classes for today.
Take a look at other school districts closed or delayed because of the weather.
HISD make up the lost day of work on February 9. That had been on their calendar as student holiday.
