(1/21/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- Investigators believe cooking french fries sparked a fire in northeast Houston.
The kitchen fire started in a one bedroom apartment on Uvalde and Audrey late last night. When fire crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the second floor. Three other units were affected by smoke and water damage.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames. Everyone made it out safely.
