Worker gets hair trapped in machine in NW Harris County

Friday, March 02, 2007

An industrial accident left one worker pinned in a heavy duty machine as he cleaned his work area.

The accident happened at T-3 Energy Services on Cypress North Houston and Telge Road in northwest Harris County.

The worker was sweeping up last night near a large machine that makes metal parts for energy companies. According to another employee, the man thought the machine was completely off, but part of it wasn't. The part that was still on includes two long poles that spin continuously.

The worker reportedly caught his long hair in the spinning machine. He was trapped and other employees had to pull him out of the machine. He lost portions of his hair, possibly even part of his scalp.

He was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.
