Workers doing remodeling project accidentally start fire at church

Sunday, March 11, 2007

Workers remodeling a church in northeast Houston started the fire that damaged part of the building.

It happened in the classroom section of Laura Koppe Missionary Baptist Church. The workers were cutting some pipes with a torch. Some sparks caught the siding on fire.

Firefighters say the flames traveled up the wall and got into the attic. No one was hurt.
