Pedestrian hit by oncoming car in downtown

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

A pedestrian was hit by a car in downtown Houston.

It happened on San Jacinto and Prairie. The driver told authorities he did not see anything until the last second.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing a street near Minute Maid Park last night, and probably did not realize cars had the green light at the time. He was hit by a car and smashed into the vehicle's windshield. The victim is in serious condition.

Police say the driver won't face any charges, but he will be ticketed for driving without a license and proof of insurance.
