Wednesday, March 21, 2007

A student managed to escape a would-be kidnapper who attacked her as she walked to school.

The ninth-grade student at Scarborough High School was approached at 8:15am Wednesday. An Hispanic male driving a four-door Dodge truck reportedly attempted to abduct the girl from the corner of Antoine and Libby.

The girl was able to escape unharmed.

The suspect is described as being between the ages of 25 and 30, 5'6" tall with short black spiked hair, with excessive acne on his face. He was wearing a royal blue button-up shirt and blue jeans.

HISD police and Houston police are investigating. Extra police patrols have been added in the area.

"If you have any information regarding this incident please contact our campus police. Take appropriate precautions when walking to and from school and attempt to walk to in groups," Scarborough Principal Moses Diaz cautioned.

Parents of students have been notified of the attack.
