Sunday, April 29, 2007

TSU's outgoing board of regents is getting ready for an emergency meeting tomorrow morning.

The order of business, firing interim president Timothy Boddie and replacing him with law professor Morris Overstreet.

TSU is in the middle of a financial crisis.

Governor Rick Perry wants to replace the board of regents with a conservatorship, but critics fear it would damage the school's accreditation. Lawmakers have introduced legislation that would allow Governor Perry to dissolve the board in times of a crisis and replace them with a smaller board for one year.
