Dinner left unattended on stove leads to fire in SE Houston

(4/30/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- A man who apparently left dinner on the stove caused a major duplex fire in the southeast Houston.

It happened on Blanche near Schroeder. Flames could be seen eating at the duplex's roof when fire crews arrived on the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished and everyone made it out unharmed. Only one unit sustained fire damage.

The man in that unit says he fell asleep and left some food cooking on the stove.
