(6/12/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) (KTRK) -- A restaurant owner says it took five hours for police to respond to his call for help after a car drove through the building.
It happened at the Ashiana Indian Restaurant on Dairy Ashford in west Houston around 8pm last night. A driver was apparently trying to park when the car suddenly lunged forward and crashed through the glass.
"That time the restaurant was open, so I had lots of customers. But all the customers came out in the parking lot," said restaurant owner Sanjay Shrestsa.
The owner told us he called police several times, but officers didn't arrive at the scene until 1am. We were unable to reach the officers for comment. The damaged area has been closed off and the restaurant is expected to remain open.
