Fort Bend deputy thinks teens shot at him

Saturday, June 16, 2007

A group of teenagers may have tried to shoot a Fort Bend County deputy.

The deputy was working an extra security job at the Butler Skating Rink in southwest Houston overnight.

He asked a group of teens to leave because they were causing a disturbance. The teens left in a minivan but returned a short time later. The deputy was in his patrol car when at least one person in the van opened fire.

The deputy believes they were aiming for him. He wasn't hurt. He chased after the van but the suspects jumped out and ran off.

A stolen gun was found inside the van.
