Monday, June 18, 2007

Remains found in a shallow grave may be that of a missing Pearland man.

Kenneth Cummings, Jr., 46, was last seen Monday, June 4th. His family became concerned when he didn't show up for work. Police found several bloody items in his home and his car had been damaged.

Saturday afternoon the shallow grave was found south of San Antonio.

"Detectives were led to the San Antonio area due to some credit card charges that had been made, the suspect Mangum had made in that area," said Sgt. Roy Castillo of the Pearland Police Department. "Detectives were on their way to that area to assist Texas Equusearch."

The remains have not been positively identified. Cummings' family is in San Antonio waiting on the forensics report.

The man accused with Cummings murder remains in jail on a half million dollar bond. Police say Terry Mangum, 26, was the last person seen with Cummings. He is also charged with fraudulent use of identity information and tampering with physical evidence.
