Increased security for Houston transportation

Sunday, July 01, 2007

You may notice increased security because of the terror attacks in England and Scotland.

METRO Police have increased their security presence in the local transit system, especially along the MetroRail lines. They will coordinate their security effort with federal law agencies.

You'll also see intensified security at Bush and Hobby airports. Homeland security chief Michael Chertoff ordered security increases at us airports and transit systems with the Fourth of July holiday coming up this week.

Homeland security has also put more air marshals on overseas flights.
