Suspect takes nap in car he allegedly broke into

Saturday, July 28, 2007

A suspected car burglar went on a crime spree, but is behind bars because he apparently wanted to take a nap.

Conroe police say Deandre Brown broke into several vehicles in the area, including two law enforcement vehicles at a paint and body shop. But instead of leaving the scene, Brown decided to go to sleep in one of the vehicles.

An employee noticed the broken windows and found Brown asleep.

"I started searching in other vehicles to see what was damaged or stolen and he was in the first vehicle I looked at and the door glass was busted out he was right there all stretched out, sleeping like a baby," said John Stump with Buckalew Paint and Body Shop.

Police arrived and arrested Brown.
