Slick roads being blamed for several wrecks

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Last night's rain is being blamed for several accidents on Houston roadways.

A driver lost control on Hempstead Road in northwest Houston and hit two men who were walking in the grass. The driver hit another car, went through several bushes, and finally came to rest on the sidewalk of a business.

The two victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK.

There were also slick roads on part of the Northwest Freeway. A driver lost control after hitting water on the freeway, forcing her sideways across several lanes of traffic.

Another driver hit her, and she slammed into a guard rail. She was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
